Who we are

Scholar's Studio provides after-school math and language arts enrichment in Burlington, Ontario. We operate from 3430 Fairview Street, Burlington, ON L7N 2R5. If you have any question about this policy or about your information, write to inquiry@ScholarsStudio.ca.

What we collect

When you join our waitlist or register for an event, we ask for the parent or guardian's name, email address and phone number, and information about your child such as their grade or date of birth. We ask for a child's date of birth only to place them in the right learning level and to confirm a program is suitable for their age.

We do not ask for payment details on this website.

When you visit the site, our analytics tool records standard technical information such as the pages you view, the approximate region you are visiting from, the type of device and browser you use, and how you arrived at the site.

Why we collect it

We use the information you give us to reply to your enquiry, to confirm your place at an event, to arrange a placement assessment, to tell you about our programs, and to run and improve the website.

Consent, and how to withdraw it

We ask separately before we add you to our marketing emails. You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by writing to inquiry@ScholarsStudio.ca. Withdrawing consent for marketing does not affect our ability to contact you about a booking you have already made.

Where your information is stored

We use a customer relationship platform to store enquiries and registrations, and an email marketing platform to send our campaigns. Both operate in the United States, so your information is stored and processed outside Canada and may be accessible to United States authorities under the laws of that country.

We choose service providers who are contractually required to protect your information and to use it only to provide the service to us.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site. It sets cookies in your browser and shares the technical information described above with Google. You can prevent this by turning off cookies in your browser settings, or by using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

We advertise our programs online. Our advertising partners, which may include Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), may set cookies or similar technologies on this site so that we can measure how our advertising performs and reach people who may be interested in our programs. You can control this through your browser settings and through the advertising settings of the platform concerned.

Children's information

We collect a child's first name, grade and date of birth from the parent or guardian who contacts us. We do not ask children to give us information directly, and we do not send marketing email to children. If you would like us to remove information about your child, write to inquiry@ScholarsStudio.ca and we will do so.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with the service providers described in this policy who help us run the studio, and where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and registration information only for as long as we need it to provide the service you asked for and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to inquiry@ScholarsStudio.ca and we will respond within thirty days.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
